Initial Assessment.
Once you have made the decision to explore the possibilities of therapy and made contact, I will ask you to attend for an initial face to face assessment. This will offer you the opportunity to ask any questions and decide if I am the right therapist for you. It will also give me an opportunity to find out more about you and what your aims and goals are in therapy.
There is no obligation to continue after this initial session.
Length of sessions
The counselling sessions are 50 minutes in length and usually weekly.
I currently have availability throughout the week, including some evening slots.
Number of sessions
This will be unique to each individual, and therefore the number of sessions required will vary. Whether we do short-term or long-term therapy, I will build regular reviews into the work to ensure that you are getting what you need. We would discuss this is in the initial assessment session.
Confidentiality
It is important that you feel safe enough to speak freely about all aspects of your life. I adhere to the Ethical Codes of the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and the Codes of Conduct of the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI). We will discuss confidentiality in more depth at your initial assessment and how this impacts the work.
